How To Take Care Of Your Vape

It’s important to make sure that you take care of your e cig and vape batteries to get the best out of your vape. Doing so will not only help them to perform better, but will make them last longer. This means more time enjoying your vape and less money spent replacing parts or buying new devices, so we have some tips to help you out.

Clean the Battery Contacts Regularly

Cleaning the contacts is the best thing you can do to look after e cigarette batteries. Over time, small amounts of e liquid and debris from pockets or bags can collect in the screw part of the battery. You may notice that there’s a green coloured build up around the battery screw which is usually because debris has reacted with the battery.

To clean the battery contacts, simply take a screwed up piece of dry tissue paper or a cotton wool bud and thoroughly wipe both inside and outside the screw part of the battery.

Keep Batteries Out of Sunlight & Extreme Temperatures

As with any type of battery, exposure to extremes of temperature can be dangerous. When you’re not happily vaping away, make sure that you keep your vape batteries out of direct sunlight and don’t let them get too cold. Not only is your vape overheating bad for the device but also dangerous for you and those around you. Make sure your vape is in a safe place in your bag and if it’s in your pocket make sure it doesn’t get too hot.

Don’t Overcharge Your Batteries

Try not to keep your batteries plugged in after they are fully charged as this can cause deterioration. Batteries get worn out the longer they are used more than they need to be. Just like a phone when they recommend to stop charging at 80% for battery health a vape is the same. It’s easy to buy a new battery but if you want to save some money be aware of how much you’re charging your device.

How to Clean Your Vape Pen

When your vape is not offering the same quality vapor or if the flavor is not as strong, it is a sign that you should clean out your vape pen. Residues from every session can get stuck and accumulate in the tank and this can compromise the flavor and performance of even the best vape pen in the market.

Simply rinsing and cleaning your vape tank is something you’ll want to do each time you change flavors, so that your new flavor isn’t compromised by the last flavor you used. It’s best to also make it a habit of giving your vaporizer a weekly once-over and to clean your device thoroughly at least every few weeks.

The Simple Rinse:

  • Fill a bowl with warm water.
  • Detach tank from mod.
  • Dispose of any e-liquid remaining in the tank
  • Completely disassemble your tank.
  • Place tank components into bowl.
  • Wash tank components in water until clean. If tank is extremely dirty, a few drops of dish soap will help!
  • Dry off each component with a paper towel.
  • Let stand and air dry for 10-15 minutes.
  • Reassemble tank and device.

The Deep Clean – Cleaning Vape Tank with Alcohol

  • Detach tank from mod and dispose of any e-liquid remaining in the tank.
  • Completely disassemble your tank.
  • High-proof and nonflavored vodka works best as a solvent to help break down e-juice deposits from the vapebox tank. Dampen a cloth or paper towel with the vodka and scrub any tough areas until the tank is completely clean.
  • Wipe and rinse with warm water.
  • Let stand and air dry for 10-15 minutes.
  • Reassemble tank and device.

If your vape pen has a detachable tank, the first thing you should do is to take the coil out. Detach the tank from the pen and then pour out any residues. If there are still some left, put the tank back on and power up your pen for about two to three minutes to burn off or loosen the stubborn residue. Then, take the tank apart and clean the parts with warm water.

Make sure you do not wet the battery section, buttons, and charging port. Use a dry microfiber towel to wipe the water off the components. Air dry them and only put the tank together when every part is completely dry.

Vape coils are very important when it comes to maintaining and delivering the flavor of your chosen vape concentrates. It is very important that they stay clean at all times. There are two types of vape coils: replaceable and rebuildable. Keep in mind that these two, although they perform the same function, are cleaned differently.

For replaceable coils, you can use the soak and rinse method. Let them soak in vinegar, vodka, or ethanol for a couple of hours then rinse it out with running water. Make sure that you blow air on the open side of the coil to force the water out from the wicking holes. Set it aside to air dry under the heat of the sun. This will take some time.

As for rebuildable coils, cleaning is definitely a requirement. Coils gunked up with residue will not only compromise the flavor but also the production of vapor.

First, you have to remove the wick from the coils. If your coils do not look that dirty, you can do a quick burn off where you click on the fire button a couple of times to remove the remaining vape liquid. Once the coil has cooled down, you can return the wick. But if the coils still look dirty after the burnout, you should do some deeper cleaning. You can brush them off with a coil cleaning tool or an old toothbrush then rinse under rolling water. End the cleaning process by doing another burnout to remove any droplets of water remaining in the coil.

The Coil

No matter how well you clean your device, at some point, you’re going to need to replace your coil. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can tell you about how to clean vape coils that will bring them back to life. If you wet them, they’ll burn out. Coils have a huge influence on flavor, and the more you vape, the more often you’ll need to change your coil. Don’t worry we’ve a wide range of vape coils to choose from. Changing your coil is simply just another part of successful vape pen care. Here are some signs that your coil may need to be changed:

  • It is visually dark, crusted or damaged.
  • You are experiencing a “burnt” taste, even after thoroughly cleaning your device.
  • Your atomizer is having leakage issues.
  • You are experiencing decreased vapor production.

Changing the coil in your vaporizer is relatively simple, but with so many different coil types available on the market, there really is no “one-size-fits-all” way of doing things. Generally however, changing the coil in your vape pen or vapebox is as simple as:

  • Remove tank from device.
  • Discard any remaining e-liquid.
  • Twist the coil to the left to unscrew it from tank.
  • Screw in new coil.
  • Reattach tank to device.
